How to Redeem a V-Bucks Card Step by Step

The steps below summarize Epic's official guide to redeeming a V-Bucks card. The process runs on the Fortnite website, not inside the game, and you must be logged in to the correct Epic account before you start.

1. Log in to your Epic account, hover over your display name, and select V-Bucks Card, or open the V-Bucks card redemption page on the Fortnite site directly.
2. Select Get Started to begin the redemption process.
3. Carefully scratch off the back of the card so the code is not damaged, then enter the PIN with no dashes. For a digital code, copy and paste it.
4. Select the platform you want the V-Bucks to land on, then select Next. If the platform you want is missing, double-check which Epic account is logged in.
5. Review the summary: the Epic account, the device, and the new balance must all be correct. Only then select Confirm.

If you redeem to PC, Switch, or a mobile device, the V-Bucks are ready as soon as you launch Fortnite. Epic's own examples: if you buy 1,000 V-Bucks on PC, that balance appears on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Android, but Nintendo Switch shows 0. The other way around, 1,000 V-Bucks bought on Switch are visible only on Switch. Meanwhile, 500 V-Bucks earned from the Battle Pass follow you to every platform, including Switch. Region Locks on V-Bucks Cards

V-Bucks cards are locked to specific regions. According to Epic's help page, if the region or country on your Epic account does not match the region of the card, you will not be able to redeem the code, and Epic recommends contacting the retailer you bought it from to get a card that matches your account's region.

There is no shortcut through changing your account country either. Epic states on another help page that the country on your account affects various features and services and must match where you currently live, so updating it to use a V-Bucks card from a different region is not possible.

In practice, when buying a code from any marketplace, look for the region in the product name. If it is not there, ask the seller first rather than guessing. Epic's Refund Rules to Understand Before You Pay

Under the Epic Games Store Refund Policy, virtual currency, in-game items, consumable digital items, and subscriptions are usually non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Gift purchases are non-refundable as well. In other words, V-Bucks that have landed on your account should be treated as final.

For cosmetics bought with V-Bucks, Epic has a separate in-game return mechanism with its own conditions and limits. That is different from turning V-Bucks back into money. Before relying on it, read the latest terms in Epic's help center, because the conditions can change.

If the seller is a marketplace, the return rules that apply are the marketplace's own, and they usually cover only codes that prove to be invalid. If the player is under thirteen or under their country's age of digital consent, their account automatically becomes a Cabined Account. • Prices far below the market. Codes bought with stolen cards can be revoked later, and the balance disappears from your account with them.

When the V-Bucks Do Not Arrive

Check in this order: make sure the redemption reached the Confirm step, check whether there is an additional code that has not yet been entered into your Microsoft or Sony account, open Fortnite on the platform you selected during redemption (not another one), then close and reopen the game so the balance refreshes.
